this summer/fall I ran the anti monkee face.

I had Wolverine style sideburns that stopped where a goatee starts.

That was a great look, it suited you. Smiley

I did that for a few days back in college, but I hate maintaining facial hair.  I either shave it all off or grow a beard.  Trimming it into patterns and shapes is more annoying that shaving it all off.  Before I got married, I'd start a beard around Thanksgiving and keep it till Easter, but even that was too much work at times.  These days, I merely shave every other day.  I start looking a bit scruffy by the end of the non-shaving day, but I don't work directly with customers and I dress more neatly than my coworkers, so I can pull it off.

My wife has been bugging me since we got married almost 6 years ago to shave the mustache.  She did succeed in getting me to shave the Trotski-esk goatee (my mom said it made me look like Mephastaphales) just before the wedding.  Either way, for me it's a low maintenance affair.  My facial hair grows too slowly for it to be a problem.  I generally trim the 'stache about once a month.  I usually only need to shave at most 3 times a week.  And I'm 30.

I think thats when my wife removes the stubble form her legs...

Actually I shaved when I had to when I was in the Navy but when I got out in '92 I stopped that silly habit and never looked back.

Having seen some fifty-seven summers now, I feel entitled to a mustache.  I don't know why, my father never liked facial hair - or maybe mom didn't...

At any rate, I have the small, neatly trimmed mustache you see in the photo of my manly physiognomy.  When I retire, and the 'grooming standards' no longer apply, it will bloom out to a proper handlebar mustache once again.
