The first two guys I don't see a problem with other than some interesting things about the old guys rifle. My pic though, probably illegal AOW (maybe he has a tax stamp... maybe), crocs, and no rear sight. Not the image or person we want. If he could afford a tax stamp he could afford an MBUS...
ETA: Of course, that doesn't account for the VFG, which is a no-no on a pistol. So yeah, you're right. AOW...
Not quite.
In the definition of an AOW, it mentions weapon capable of being concealed. The ATF has long held that a weapon over 26" in over all length is not "concealable" (Unless you actually conceal one, but that's a different story.)
Most AR pistols, with a ~10" barrel and sig brace get over the 26" mark, so adding a VFG doesn't make an AOW, it converts the pistol to a regular title 1 "firearm". (measure twice). Same deal as that birds head grip and 14" barreled shotgun you see floating around.
The particular AR on Mr. Day-Glo
looks long enough to be legal, but without a measuring stick I wouldn't swear to it. Nothing forgives the Crocs though.
