That's just one of many models the forecasters use, but NOAA software is what I'm familiar with from my earlier days.

They park where they want like they always have. There's a cop down the street - last winter his patrol car (it's always parked in the street, even when it's snowy and streets need to be clear of vehicles for the plows) practically got buried by snow from the plows. I really wanted him to be ticketed, but buried in snow was a close second.
