Made ribs tonight. We ran out of store bought BBQ sauce early on, so faked our own from ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, ground mustard seeds, Worstechire, onions, garlic powder and probably a few other things. Added some water and then let it reduce for an hour or so.
Ribs were baked (covered) in the oven initially, then basted with store bought BBQ sauce and put on the grill. Direct (low) heat initially, then indirect heat with the grill thermometer reading about 300 for probably 2-2.5 hours total. Basted with the homemade BBQ sauce every half hour or so.
Best ribs I've had in quite a while.
