Enough is enough.

A joke is a joke is a joke.
But a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke is not a joke.

ETA: OK, I just saw this:

It wouldn't let me change it.

You can also go into your profile and change it yourself.

Tried two ways of doing it. Didn't seem to want to let me. Explicit instructions needed for this particular dummy. Thanks in advance if you can do it for me.

No, we serfs can't edit our screen names.
Thanks to whoever restored us to the pre-April 1 level of insanity. The changes on April 1 were amusing. Normalcy should have been restored 24 hours later, not three days later.

What is this normalcy you speak of?

Wah wah wah... =D

Hallay-fricken-loo-ya.
A-fricken-men.
-

A relative term, obviously, meaning something akin to "slightly less chaotic."
-
Some of you millennial snowflakes really got yourselves triggered. :P
-
I am a pre-millennial snowflake, thank you very much.
And I do think that a good prank completely ceases to be a good prank when it continues on long after it should have ended. The forum should have reverted to its pre-April 1 status on April 2. Enough is enough. It's not funny or fun at this point.
-
If your life is negatively affected by having your name changed on an internet forum practically no one in the world has heard of, for a couple of days instead of just one, you probably have a really good life. There's about 5 billion people in the world that dream of having the problems that APS members have.

Agreed, but it's also not worth caring about.

OTOH, some jokes progress from funny, to not funny, to "seriously, this is not funny", to hilarious. (Family Guy does this a lot) How long they keep one gag running becomes the joke.
(Am I supposed to do something to lose the Amy K. moniker? It's annoying, but it seems to be annoying other people a lot more than it annoys me, so I'm good with it ;) )

Well we could change your name to "Bob the Bug Guy".
-
I find it amusing that somebody equates how good something is to how annoying it is to other people. =D
Did I read that right?

Sometimes.
🤣

I'm guessing that the biggest April Fools of all was Scout changing everybody's name and then taking a powder to leave the rest of the mods stuck listening to the whining. =D

I'm still waiting to find out what happened to the horse after he walked into the bar

So Scout was the guilty party? It was funny stuff.
Had it been me, I wouldn't have let it go on quite so long, but it wasn't something to get one's panties all wadded up over, either.

It's more nuanced than that, but basically yeah ;)

Terry raises eyebrow...
I thunk we wusn't supposed to comment on other peoples' physical characteristics.
Well, that's what I thunk, so sorry if I sound like I'm whining.

Terry, you know we all think you're just the bestest of the best, right?

Aw, shucks, thank you all. But I'd also like to thank all the little people who helped me win, like Merriam-Webster and Random House, and especially the nuns who taught me that "separate" had "a rat" in it, that "gauge" was spelled alphabetically, as in aeiou, and that "cemetery" had an "EEEk!" in it.
Bless you all, and I'm having a party in my hotel suite tonight and you're all welcome.

You forgot the part where Kanye barged up on stage....

Two things I found it was best to ignore were New York Times op-eds and children throwing tantrums. But the Sergeant-at-Biceps had already been advised to keep an eye on him. He had his Corporals-at-Biceps strategically stationed around the room as well.
