Objecting to anything in the U.S. on constitutional grounds is almost meaningless today, what with the obstacle course and hoops to jump through and the necessity to have "standing" and the money involved and the virtual randomness of Supreme Court decisions...

Whatever logic they used in 1934 to "constitutionally" make some guns unavailable to thee and me, they can also use to effectively ban everything right down to single-shot .22 rifles. Remember that. And that $200 tax would be about $2500 today.
