From Perd's post:
The so-called clean-up campaign, he has told advisers, undermines him and smothers the authenticity that fueled his rise. Worse, it feeds a Republican talking point that he’s not fully in command.
I think that part's actually pretty accurate, and, ironically, one of the clearest and most concise statements he's made in a while. Staffers running around behind him claiming "That's not really what he meant" and " this isn't a policy change" DOES undermine his authority and goes a long way towards making everyone think he's not really in charge. Not sure about his "authenticity" but perhaps a Biden voter could see him as faker now than pre-2020.
If he didn't mumble rambling nonsense or offhandedly change major foreign policy points perhaps the staffers would back off a little, but he's correct that they are undermining him.
Heh. Maybe he could ask Trump for advice on how to deal with people in his administration undermining his policies. Trump has some experience with that.
