This only reinforces my belief of wearing my seatbelt whenever my butt is in the seat.

Before I worked for the big G, I was always cavalier when flying. Ignored the stewardess briefings, only wore the seatbelt when required, etc. After the first time I was sent to aviation water survival school,  that kind of woke me up. Anytime I have flown since then, the seatbelt is always on when I'm in the seat. When I board the plane, the first thing I do is find my exits and reference points, and I always give full attention to the stewardess and anything coming over the speaker.

The scabbard is what I pictured in my mind. As long as you can stand up on some footboards to unholster the rifle. Anything from molded plastic,  carriage bolted low on the ROPS to embossed and beaded leather a'la Pancho Villa. Cordura meets in the middle, like the 2nd link.

If you must remain seated until the ride comes to a complete stop, then i see value in the clamps, but mounted on a horizontal surface, perhaps ahead of the steering wheel.

If someone really wanted to stop arming cartels, maybe they should start with eliminating the people who intentionally arm them, like the ATF.

But that's none of my business.

Can't spend any time digging into that right now but speaking of smoke and mirrors within a few seconds came with sites with lists of crimes being committed in the US with 50 cals. A quick scan showed most if not all were incidences were where someone committing a crime also happened to own/process a 50 cal. So yeah, they counting those incidences as a crime committed with a 50cal. There weren't many such incidences but smoke and mirrors indeed.

The Roundtable / Tractor Gun Rack Ideas?

Right now it's rockchuck and raccoon invasion season, and it seems every time that I go out and plant myself somewhere to wait for them to pop up (even if they showed up on the gamecam just ten minutes earlier), I can wait for an hour and never see one. I see them all the time when I'm on the tractor.

So I'm looking for a tractor mount that can handle either my AR or my air rifle, or possibly shotgun as well. Obviously it would have to handle bumps and vibrations, which are usually felt more on a tractor than say a pickup or ATV. I was looking at the below, which looks like it would work well for maybe mounting to the ROPS bar, but my concern is the "up to 15lbs of carrying strength". That seems a little weaksauce, especially for the extra bounciness of a tractor. The reviews though (for as much as you can trust Amazon reviews anymore), seem to indicate that they would indeed hold up. Maybe it's 15lbs per, not per pair, for 30lbs?

Any thoughts on this or suggestions for better alternatives?

EDIT: As I peruse options, one alternative is to mount a scabbard to protect the gun from dust, which can get pretty thick depending on what I'm doing. There are times I get off the tractor and am a walking dust cloud, like Pigpen in Charlie Brown.

Is there concrete evidence that cartels are even regularly using .50s anywhere on the North American continent, or were there just a couple of incidents somewhere? Or none at all?

Not that it should have anything to do with gun laws in the US. I'm just wondering how they are coming up with the .50/cartels bogeyman.

Good question. Finding a definitive answer to that without all the smoke and mirrors thrown up by the gun ban lobby getting in the way is going to be tough though
