Shouldn't that be a "sieg line"?  >:D
Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

Not really....this kind of humor is too kampf-y for me....

Been in a couple similar exchanges on Facebook recently. "They" can recite headlines word-for-word but cannot name their state's elected Federal officials... "Which Congress are we currently in?" is met with tirades about...Rush Limbaugh? A carefully worded essay re: Glass-Steagal is met with Beavis and Butthead-esque juvenile laughter along the lines of "You said 'Fannie'".

I hold hands and babysit at work. Figuratively. I don't want to do it when I have put in my work week and am trying to relax. Yet I do. I just have to hope that a fence sitter might hear what I said and start thinking...

Come on, I've had exchanges like that on Facebook in the last couple of days about Alain Rolland. A rugby referee.

People just get wound up, and out there in the big wide internet, lots of people don't have a clue how to discuss ideas or be challenged. Doesn't mean that everyone on their 'side' is the same. It's fairly easy to wind some on the Right up, Rush is often a good start.

Purile exchanges regarding rugby referee's are one thing.  Purile exhcanges about the direction of our country are just a sad commentary on the status of our society.

Puerile, from the Latin for "boy", 'puer'. Contrast puella, "girl". :P =D Glad I was actually in Latin class and not on bathroom breaks. Manus manum lavat, and stuff.

I dunno, I could take the dreadful level of argumentation ("stop showing me that IRB directive demonstrating Rolland was right, I don't want to see it"), the vague unspecified threats ("He'll never get out of Wales alive") and the abuse directed at dissenters as indicative of the status of our society.

Well, actually I do a bit. Lots of people just aren't up to adult conversation, big cross-section of society.

You watching the Rugby World Cup anyway sump? NZ are in the final.

I would agree that many people on the right get wound up easily.  Too many can't tell when someone is not serious and just trying to bait them or play devil's advocate.  Before THR Politics forum was hammered down, there were some very long threads that were kept going almost solely by people doing that.
