Granola for me, peanut-butter crackers for the boy.

Wife's an RN, so she's pulling her requisite every-other-year Christmas shift at the ER and the 2 year-old wants me to play trains more than he wants a fancy breakfast.  :P

I may make some eggs and bacon when he goes down for a nap, though . . .

I'm not ready for breakfast yet, so I'm sitting in bed with the laptop and breakfast appetizers.  That is, cornbread muffins, butter and hot coffee. [/canofworms]

Skipping breakfast here, too.

Setting up the huge standing rib roast to make Christmas Prime Rib Dinner later on, may even skip the baked potato to cram in more dead cow...   =D

Had some fresh pineapple and orange juice.  Waiting for my sister to come over to my folks, she's made dinner.  I hope Robert likes crunchy Lasagna.  ;)

My mother always makes rolls that are kind of like cinnamon rolls but without the cinnamon. We're waiting for my sister to arrive before digging in, and she's late.   :'(

Really had to resist the temptation to eat a normal healthy breakfast.

Cinnamon rolls.

Hot tea.

Large food later, with the usual bloat.

I came in from work, fed the pigs and went to bed. Been up long enough to bring in some firewood and ingest a large dose of caffeine.
We've got a winter storm moving in so we decided to stay home, just the wife and I and a yellow lab that thinks she and I should go out and do our regular play routine in the howling wind. Silly pup.

Haven't decided what we'll eat today, some good leftovers from Saturday's smoked pig probably.

Coffee and cinnamon rolls - followed by a lunch of jambalaya, sweet taters, buttered crescent rolls, and pumpkin pie buried in whipped cream.
Gonna build a fire now and start sippin on the Duvel that some old German guy in a red suit gave me.

We had X Mas brunch, as usual, at a cousin's house.  Had a lot of great food.
My mother & sister spent two hours cooking up five pounds of bacon.  Used a cast iron cooker that we've had since the 1960s.
The bacon was great.
But it was gone in TEN MINUTES! =D

2 lbs of Hash browns, 6 eggs, a can of cream of chicken soup, diced onion, 1lb of crumbled bacon and 2lbs of sharp cheddar, baked at 350 for 45 minutes. Seasonings, salt etc.

Then 3 tubes of cinnamon rolls, cut into 1/8ths, and placed in a pan with 1/2 stick of melted butter, eggs whipped with heavy cream, cinnamon, and vanilla poured over it. 375 for 30 minutes. Drizzle syrup and nuts over the top and bake another 10 minutes.

I promise not to duck.

Wouldn't be Christmas without sausage balls. Though I did break tradition somewhat this year and strong-armed the boys into making them since Bridgette and I cooked Christmas Eve dinner, cookies, and Christmas morning breakfast. They did a good job!

Had a substance that I make that has now been dubbed "who hash".

Here is the recipe.
1 lb ground sausage, I use half and half sweet and hot Italian.
1 large onion minced
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup or less sour cream
1 24 oz bag frozen hash browns (raw shredded potatoes)
salt <-- I usually omit this because of the sausage I use
pepper
some hot sauce to taste. (A good shot of franks for me)

Brown the sausage
brown the onions
mix everything together, put in baking dish
bake for 1-1.5 hours at 350
enjoy

You can top it with those Frenches fried onion things also.
