Dick's comes up short

Agreed.  I use to go to a Galyans in Plainfield, IN growing up.  Excellent place.

Same here, in fact same store. We'd drive over from Brownsburg and go to Galyans and Bobs Guns(Which btw he's still there he gave some guns for the Hendricks County Friends of the NRA banquet a couple years ago). Both places easily beating the piss out of Dicks.

I will say that Dicks has a decent set of hip waders for $20ish that I've really enjoyed. They only last a couple of seasons before they get cut but I keep going back for them. Flexible and thin with a rubber sole, I just really like them better than others I've tried.

A Dick's opened up not far from me - I even signed up during their Grand Opening for their frequent buyer's club. (Or whatever they call it.)

Never bought anything there. Never. Limited selection, high prices.

Got an email survey asking what I thought of their store and coupon sales, and told them that they're obviously not interested in catering to hunters or target shooters, since all their coupons explicitly exclude guns & ammo, and even their sale prices are normally higher than everyday prices at WalMart, Academy, etc. Concluded by saying that since they were clearly uninterested in my business, I was honoring their wishes by making my purchases elsewhere.

I purposefully did not include Dicks. Given their response to the media frenzy over the sales of "assault rifles" I have zero use for them.

Remove Galyans, they no longer exist (absorbed into Dick's and no different than any other Dick's store).
