Why so thin  ???

Because its just to spread out the load, note I followed with "filled with dirt"
As in the ENTIRE above-ground house is basically one big dirt filled block, on top of a thick slab, with the dirt taken from underneath.  Basically, it looks like a house, but its actually the overburden for an underground space.  Kinda a stealth bunker.  Basically, big ranch style home, built on top of a "overly thick" reinforced slab with "overly deep" footings/basement walls and a concrete floor basement...but with the dirt removed after the fact and simply filling the above-ground box.
So there is nothing to ram into (other than the passage-way).  So if you bust door, you hit another door...so they bring out the ram-equipped MRAP and drive it...into a reinforced concrete block.
Splat goes the MRAP.
Hell, drive an M1 into it.  The tank would go from 20-0 in about 6". 60 ton tank vs 500 tons of dirt.

Pesky building inspectors and occupancy permits...

The .gov already has pre-empted such wondrous constructions.

And why on earth would C&SD ever get "raided"? The only reason I could see is if he were not home, and the local police were really jonesing bad for the coffee and donuts he puts out for them, in exchange for "cop stories" and last month's Gall's catalog.
I promise not to duck.

I don't worry bout cops. It's after the revolution when the libertarian squads purge collaborators that's scary.

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Gotta love living in the unincorporated county. =D
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

There's a reason we are here freezing our butts in the winter and scorching hot for two months of summer.
