It's a good thing for you old farts that us youngens have access to Google so we can keep up with your pop culture references.

Correction: I am one of the certified Olde Pharts around here, and Dallas was AFTER my time, not before or during. By the time J.R. and company took over the airwaves, I had already mostly quit watching television.

Correction: I am one of the certified Olde Pharts around here, and Dallas was AFTER my time, not before or during. By the time J.R. and company took over the airwaves, I had already mostly quit watching television.

I basically have not watched television regularly since 1972/1973 when I left home.  For one thing, I didn't have one, and for the other too busy living with my own real life to bother with other people's nonsense.

A couple short periods I have stayed somewhere that had a TV on a lot, and around the time of the first Gulf War we got given a TV and stuck to it following news for a while.  When they put on an ad for a violent and sex filled show to be aired later that night, in the middle of a Sunday afternoon showing of "Sound of Music" that we were watching with our kids, it got put away for good.

Then there have been a couple lonely stretches in hotel rooms working out of state, where I got to sample all the crap that we haven't been missing.  I did get hooked on "Castle" because of NF (firefly) and the concept of a writer's imagination solving crimes.  We have it all on DVD except the last season.

Ladypine found out about and ordered a DVD for the Canadian series "Heartland" of which we have watched three episodes and it seems promising.  Grandpa "Jack" is pretty much me  =D

So ... yeah - I only know "JR" from hearsay, but I remember him from "I Dream of Jeannie"  ;)

There were other people in that show besides Barbara Eden?

Who knew?

In reference to the original post - didn't the challenged party have choice of weapons?

Hand grenades at 2 paces would make for an interesting contest . . .

When I was a trial lawyer, there were a few times that you could have convinced me this was a good idea...

Some lawyers need a beating.

That is all. *expletive deleted*ck you all, eat *expletive deleted*it, and die in a fire. I have considered writing here a long parting section dedicated to each poster, but I have decided, at length, against it. *expletive deleted*ck you all and Hail Satan.

Pie fight.  That's the ticket.

No "disparity of force" here.  Just "disparity of agility."
