Canada and Immigrants

Looks like Canadians aren't happy about illegals crossing from the US into Canada. Imagine that. Easy to lecture until it happens to you.

WTF?

Quote
However, a poll taken in March showed that nearly half of Canadians thought refugees crossing into Canada illegally from the United States should be sent back to the U.S. So, how are citizens feeling lately? Should Haitian refugees head north, or apply for status in the U.S.?

How about sending them back where they belong? If they're illegal in the U.S. (which is the reason they're scramming), don't send them here ... send them back to their native country. If we catch Nicaraguans or Columbians entering the U.S. from Mexico, we don't deport them to Mexico (if we bother to deport them at all), we send them back to Nicaragua or Columbia.

Which is as it should be. (Except that we need to do a lot more of it.)

Keep 'em moving.  Next stop: Greenland.

I don't think the Inuits want them, either. There probably aren't a lot of lawn care jobs in Greenland, and who wants a seal meat taco?

Until you mentioned it I certainly didn't, but now ... I'm kind of curious.

Haitians put seal meat in their tacos?

Haitians put whatever kind of meat they can get in their tacos.  IME, the rich ones that made it to FL have moved up to goat meat (which isn't bad, actually)  but I know I've had cat, dog, and rat in the islands.  If they had seals, they'd eat them.

Side Note: Never had seal, but I've had other arctic animals, and pretty much every animal with a thick fat layer comes out greasy, and carnivores taste like what they eat, mostly.  So I imagine a seal would be like a kinda greasy fish with a strange texture.  (Mammal muscle structure vs. Fish)

That's kind of what I was thinking, but now, since you mention it, I have to try goat tacos.

I thought Canada was pretty sparsely populated up in its Northern areas.  Maybe they could do some settlements.

I goes to prove that they are not looking for asylum, but hand-outs.   And Haiti should be all better off by now after the 2010.  Considering there was over $10 billion aid, (the country's Annual GNP is only $18.4 billion), especially with all the help they got from the Clinton's and their Foundation(s).
