Not owning guns does not preclude someone from being qualified to talk about gun ownership.
That's true, and needed for open discourse. It's not, however, unreasonable to point out that there is a direct correlation* between talking about things you have no experience in, and horseshit spewing from your mouth.
For example, I own a pretty nice mountain bike. I raced competitively in high school. It would be silly now, 20 years later, to pretend I know what issues face cyclists on the road in Tampa, despite the fact I both live near Tampa, and own the needed equipment to be a cyclist.
