You would be amazed at the weapons found on insurrgents or in caches. In Bagdad we found Mausers, Enfields, Stens, an FAL with British markings, in addition to the regular Warsaw Pact guns. Once we found a box full of 20 and 30 round Thompson mags, but could'nt find the Tommygun even after tearing the place apart. There were also a wide variety of handguns, mostly Berretas and poorly made copies of Berretas, but on one raid we recovered a mint Colt Commander 1911 (which the LT promptly took for his carry gun).
I've also seen reports and photos of Saddams secret police weapons caches that included rooms stacked full of brand new Browning HPs still in the box and MP-5Ks with the factory briefcase that you shoot out of. The HPs were turned over to the Iraqi police to be issued and then the US promptly bought and issued them all Glock 17s. Even a local farmer next to our Fob had a snub-nosed Colt .38 he carried in a shoulder holster.
