Mtnbkr, glad to hear that everything went well. As for the above posts: you folks are really cruel. Funny, but cruel. Wink

Get well soon.  How long before you can ride your bike?

Thanks.  A few weeks.  I'm up and mobile (albiet slowly) now, but I have to take it easy for a week, then lay off strenous activities for a week or more after that.  With winter coming on, I probably won't get on the bike till spring.

Lord knows that I eat unhealthy enough for both of us, Chris...

And your wife.

Daughter.

Parents, brother, my parents, my brother, sister in law...

Ah hell, let's face it. My diet sucks.

Keep a pillow handy to put over your incision should you cough or sneeze , new experiences in painful experssions without it shocked !

My gallbladder and I parted company about a year ago , truthfully it must have been failing for years as I can eat things now that I haven't enjoyed for a long time.

Already BTDT.  I was standing in front of the stove cooking breakfast this morning when a cough appeared out of nowhere.  It hurt and I was afraid parts of me might shoot out of my incisions, but I recovered. Smiley

Looking back, mine has been failing for over a year.  I probably caught it as early as I did because of family history.  I realized what was going on once I stopped working out at the gym and the discomfort continued (then got worse due to the weight loss).

I never paid any attention until at work one day after lunch, I had really uncomfortable indigestion.
A couple of Tums didn't even phase it, and I knew this was different.

Another spell like that a couple of days later, only this time it was really bad.  No way to get comfortable sitting, standing, lying down, NOTHING helped.

Had it out within the week.

I didn't have the indigestion problems until after I knew I had a bad gallbladder.  I had 5 attacks, one was so bad, it nearly sent me to the emergency room.

That would've hurt less.  The attack in question felt like what I'd imagine a gunshot to the gut to feel like.  After suffering for several hours, a 300mg dose of Zantac and it was gone in less than 10 minutes.  I had already taken that day's dose, so that was an exercise in desperation that worked.

Like so much of your life.... Cheesy

I didn't realize that Zantac would affect a gall bladder attack. That's interesting.

Neither did I.  At the time, I didn't know if it was gallbladder or severe acid reflux.  Turns out, a bad gallbladder can cause similar symptoms.  All I know is the pain was gone 10 minutes after taking it.
