I'm still unclear as to why you're upset with how they dealt with Dylan.

Ha.  I haven't said the cops did anything wrong, though I can see why other people think so.  As I said before, I only started this thread because it was such an interesting counter-point to the Henry Gates case, and makes him and Obama look silly.

Yeah, I think the cops may have been in the wrong, but I haven't seen enough facts, so...

Perhaps Bob was warming his voice up to this song as he was touring the neighborhood.

No, the news rags got that part right.  He was out on his own, with no direction home, a complete unknown, like a rolling stone.

Ah, but once upon a time he dressed so fine...

This is a really weird thread. So much acrimony over so little.

Dunno what to think about that, truthfully.

I've been courted by the BATF for GS-11 or better on a couple occasions.

I'd seriously considered accepting, but left Kalifornia before it became a reality.

Glad you didn't....knowing you worked for the BATFE would be more insanity than my poor brain could handle....  =|

I, like fistful, thought the interesting bit about Dylan's interaction with the police was his lack of, "Do you know who I am?!!?"-ishness.  In contrast to Gates, who acted like a damn fool.

If either man had a claim to squawk, "Do you know who I am?!!?" it would have been Dylan, who has sold millions of records and performed in front of millions.

Gates, OTOH, is known mainly by fools who miseducate themselves in "-studies" university programs and political junkies like myself.

Dylan was treated about as well as you can be treated in such a pit as NJ.  Elsewhere in more free America, the incident may be outrageous, but in that wretched sink of corruption , it was kid-gloves.

As for Ragnar Danneskjold's tourette-ish serise of posts, I must say I lost track of his point in my laughter.

I don't have video cameras pointed at me, but my behavior is under constant scrutiny.  Consequences for misbehavior on my part can be quite severe and examples of misbehavior I have seen prosecuted have had much more severe consequences than your average LEO gets when he screws a goat on Main Street.
