*Please note: This item an actual firearm, though it is no longer capable of firing standard ammunition as it has been modified to fire blanks for film use, it must be transferred to your local firearms dealer where you will be required to go through the paperwork process as you would when purchasing any other firearm.

It said it was an M1 not an M2. I thought those were semi? It also could be a legit NFA item and they just don't mention the hassle of doing a transfer. Not like it would be a post-84.

This raises an interesting point; it lost C&R status by being modified, but then, by my understanding, should regain C&R status as a unique collectible which has far more value from it's status as a "hero prop" than from being a firearm.  How does one establish that, though?

This guy thinks a random FFL knows the difference between a M1 and M2 reciever?  Isn't that cute?

I thought about sending that in a snarky reply,  but I'd bothered them enough.

$8,000 - $10,000 for  a buggered-up M2 to M1 carbine?

Holy crap, I'm rich!

For sale:

One genuine M1 Carbine used by the famous action hero "Two-Gun Terry" in the epic tale "Shot a Coyote At High Noon" produced by  .XXII LR Entertainment.  This short rifle shows some distinguished wear from various military and movie stunt actions, including a crack in the stock from a tracked vehicle driving over it in Two-Gun Terry's motion picture "I Shot the Tank In Its Periscope But It Kept Coming."  It was repaired and refurbished with a new barrel by genuine government arsenal armorers.  With sling, one 5-round magazine and documentation by Two-Gun himself.  FFL needed, ammunition extra. $3,399.98 -$4,149.95.

Snorted snot at my monitor.  Gotta clean it before it dries and hardens.

Actually, I selected that one out of a barrel of them at Dave Cook's Sporting goods because of its battle-weary look.  Sorta reminded me of Mauldin's Willie and Joe characters.  I think it was only $29.00.  It was obviously re-arsenaled.  Shot a mag full from it and retired it.

I already had a "good" one with a side-saddle scope mounted on it.  The cutout in the stock for the scope mount kinda looks a little like the cutout  for the happy switch on the M2.
