Fleet week pix...

San Francisco, lots of nice pix but especially check out the link to the video of the low level passes done by the Angels over the bay. Very cool. You'll see the still shots first then at the bottom of the page there is a link and you'll see exactly what's going on there.

Some incredible photographs in there. Absolutely stunning.

Didn't someone file a lawsuit against Fleetweek this year, claiming that the environmental damage would be so great that it should be banned?

Some of the low level shots were phenomenal.  Man, I need a better camera.

ROFL, photo 7900... can you identify the person in the photo about to crap his pants in a major way?

(There's a guy in a red shirt, seated, with his back to the coming aircraft and looking in another direction with his arms crossed. *Everything* just projects that he's not paying attention)

Jimminy... the closeup of the shockwave distortion was GREAT!  I bet the people on the water wished they'd have remembered their ear plugs!  The guy must have had a fast lens ... the shutter speed was cranked up high enough to freeze-frame the props on Fat Albert.

The C130 prop RPM is only 1020 RPM (constant) at 100% prop RPM. You only need a camera that can do 1/500th of a second (or is that 1/1000th) to stop the blades IIRC.

When I was stationed at Moffet Field, the Blue's would come visit for the yearly airshow. I loved the practice run the day before, some great pics and no crowds.

The Blue Angels will be at Fairchild AFB in Spokane August 8-10. If you have never seen them, and are close, I would say come on over.
