Never pay attention to The People...
« on: March 19, 2008, 04:29:22 PM »
When I put my little web store up, I set it up with Paypal.

Heard much crying and gnashing of teeth. They wanted to just use credit cards.

Okay.

I went through Internet Commerce Hell for about five days with getting that set up.

I'm getting more paypal transactions than credit card transactions.

Bogie need a hammer.

For what it's worth, I hate Paypal.  I wouldn't do business with anyone who didn't offer any alternatives.

Paypal = Ebay = antigun.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

But did you get more total sales as a result of adding the CC option?  I realize with your website being in its infancy it may be hard to tell, but it's something to consider before you gnash your teeth all the way down.

And, I agree with HTG and RKL--I'd always pick another option over PayPal.

Before you string him up, shoot him, run over him with a Caterpillar tractor or otherwise cause his demise, let me say two things.

First - wait till he has filled all the orders for the stickers.

Second - I did not see anything for CC transactions when I ordered my stickers.  Maybe I did not look in the right place.  Maybe my eyesight is really bad.  Maybe Bogie needs to resize that item.

But most importantly, wait till he has mailed me the stickers I ordered.

Oh, and when you do march on Bogie, be sure to bring torches and pitchforks.  I hear he is a real traditionalist.

stay safe.

vaskidmark,

You are known to be a friend of the people, and so, your request will be honored.

But how shall we execute Bogie?  As a capitalist oppressor, he must be hung with his own rope, so to speak.  Please submit suggestions.

Well if we burn him just remember to bring the floppys.

I have (a) guns; and (b) lots of sticky stuff to wrap miscreants in...

Just took a look at the thing - I'm gonna turn off the paypal stuff. Folks see it -before- they see that they have the option of paying via credit card... I'm just irritated.

no, Bogie can be "irritated". Mike's job is to be "irritating", not "irritated"...

Don't shoot him, otherwise more explaining for the gun owners to worry about.

BTW, that Butt Paste would be a good idea to use as an apple in Bogie's mouth as he is marched hanging from a long pole through town. grin

Slather him in adhesive stickers, front & back, then yank them off right quick.

Shave fistful, braid a rope from the hair, and hang him.

It'd serve him right.  Fistful, I mean. rolleyes

Bogie, what did you finally decide to use for a shopping cart? And who are you using for your credit card processing?

I'm surprised that you get more orders through PayPal than credit cards. Since I made PayPal a secondary option by putting the PayPal button below the Checkout button, I've only had a few orders through PayPal.

Tie him up in front of the computer and make him look at pictures of Janet Reno and Rosie O'Donnell wearing nothing but his stickers......
Impressed yet befogged, they grasped at his vivid leading phrases, seeing only their surface meaning, and missing the deeper current of his thought.

I understand why you're irritated, but look at it this way: customers now have more ways to pay you, which means the customers that visit your sit that don't have PayPal, which is a good amount of people, can now buy from you.
