my dad bought one last year- he's a Vovlve for life guy, his 81 DL had 350 000 miles, he hit something, brought it in to get fixed, and ended up taking home a 2005 S 40.
LOVES IT!!! too much power!! ha ha = he got a ticket pretty fast. MAJOR MAJOR power increase over the old box.
all the amenities are drving him batty with joy!!! always had a real simple car , the totally basic DL.
i also know 2 guys who have the bette ones, one an S90 i think. everyone loves this new style Volvo.
i wouldnt know about any changes since 2, sorry, but man is my dad ever happy with his.
