Cable repairman taken for ride in cherry picker

Quote
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.   A cable repairman fixing overhead lines in a cherry picker truck got a lift he wasn't expecting. Police said a Bakersfield man stole the Brighthouse Networks truck on Saturday while 50-year-old Curtis Bartell was elevated 25 feet in the air.

The thief drove off, tearing down several phone lines before crashing into a utility pole. Police say Bartell did not suffer any major injuries.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of hit-and-run, automobile theft and false imprisonment.

He fled the scene but was taken into custody Sunday morning.

Needs to be some more hitting done.  Only let the repairman be the one doing it.

Usually they have out-riggers down to stabilize the truck.  I'm surprised that it would even move.
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin

Depends on the size of the truck.  Some of the smaller ones based on pickup chassis don't have the outriggers.
