Fall Pics.....

Fall here is not at peak, and maybe not the best year for color cos so little rain and trees are ''weary''! -  but - a few more pics for now.

First is just a view towards Johnstown PA (Flood City) - then a couple taken in town at the Inclined Plane (steepest in the world).  Finally one I took way back - not very sharp but typical of some colors.

wow... what it must be like to have seasons... here in san francisco it was horrible this summer and now the weather's grand.

Which means kids stay out later. Which means in school the next day... well, here, I'll show you.

It's typical October weather here. Temps and humidity in the 80's :sarcasm:

It's supposed to cool off and rain real good this week. The leaves will start turning and falling pretty quick then. I sure hope so. Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot won't be the same if I'm not cold, wet, and muddy.

Thorn - the bridge links the roadway of R56 over the river to the bottom of the inclined plain.  The top has a viewing platform and restaurant.  Take a peak at this site for more info http://www.inclinedplane.com/

Good picture Chris , how often we ignore the neat stuff in our own backyard.

Thats a 71% incline y'all , and it'll take your car to the top too. You may be able to stand on that hillside without a tether but i'll betcha you don't wanna take a step ! :p

View from out back of my place across corn field - small ridge but has colored up to probably almost max - soon be gone.

May well not be up to Vermont standard but right now - real purdy.  No sun today but we are stuck in a dull spell so got the shot anyways - be too late in another day or two.

Sun just suddenly peeked out to a degree - so a near repeat shot - maybe just a tad better lighting, tho not that huge a difference.  I had tweaked the other slightly to bring it up a bit.

Nice shots Chris. If California only had trees..... :/

The AFB is having a photography contest this month...topic is Fall in Northern California. I really want to participate but I haven't a clue where to start. One picture, color and submit in either print or digital format. Hopefully, I'll find some inspiration.

Chris, both shots look great. Depending on the direction you are facing, that shot would look great with either some sunrise or sunset light on it too.

P95, those trees are absolutely lovely. Still waiting for the leaves to fully turn here in Cleveland. It's kinda like, "okay, now...no! wait...NOW!...hang on a sec...."

Jefnvk, if you want, get your negatives and go in to a film developing place and say "gimme all this on a cd" and they will.

Cheaper than prints sometimes.

But then you don't have darkroom control.

I don't have darkroom control anyways.  Wal-Mart 1 hour has been taking care of that for me, but since they screwed up all our night pics the other day, I don't think I'm doing that anymore.

Thought about the CD, but I like the prints, and the CD's are like another $4.

Got my hands on a scanner again

Again, quality is not my picture taking skills fault, but the scanner and my photo editing skills fault

Sunset yesterday as I was driving to work. I spent a lot of time Photoshopping out a power pole and multiple power lines but I think it came out ok. I actually submit this photo for that Fall in Northern California photography contest.

Our family took a trip down the road to Holy Hill National Shrine today and I took a few pics before my camera went dead.

Not quite in full color yet, but in another 2 weeks the area looks spectacular.

Brimic - very pretty indeed and thx - lovely colors tho soon to be gone sadly.

Ed - superb pic that sunset one - you obviously did a good job of cleaning up - always seem to be power lines somewhere in any pic!  Good luck with it - you should do well.
