Ladysmith, I got them at a pet supply store that "rescues" unwanted litters so I don't know their backgrounds other than that they're healthy and boys and 8 weeks old.
Aw, theyre rescues&how cool! You know I have a special fondness for those.
I forgot how much kittens claw you to bits. I prefer to wear as little as possible around the house, and I am covered with scratches to show that preference off... Ouch! Don't worry, I'm still not going to get them declawed.
You forgot how they claw? Just wait until they start teething and chewing everything up as well.
And folks cant understand why I go to bed wearing chainmail.
Now might be a good time to get them used to having their claws trimmed.
They definitely have very distinct personalities. Garfield is way more brave and adventurous than Nermal. He is also my prince of purr. My royalty of rumble. If I even think of petting him or picking him up, he starts to roar like a chainsaw and rattles the windows in the house...but two minutes later he wants to be put down to go get into some sort of trouble.
Now, Nermal. He's something else altogether. He's quite cautious. Quite nervous...when I turn on the vacum he skedaddles (unlike Garfield who lays there lazily and looks at the vacum like "Oh, you want a piece of this?"). But he really loves me...as the young English girls on "It's me or the dog" say, "He's me li'ul beeeby, and I'm his moo'um..". He comes to me and begs to be picked up. Then he promptly falls asleep in the crook of my arm. I've remembered how to do housework with one hand...Haven't done that since Erica was a baby.
It sounds like Nermal is your little cuddle-kitty. But be warned: hes a cat so this is liable to change at any given time.
Ive had cuddly kittens who grew up only wanting to be touched when and if they felt like it. Ive also had hostile feral kittens who became so attached that theyd try to crawl into my nostrils if I let them.
