Be Afraid... Be VERY Afraid!
« on: September 24, 2008, 12:50:43 PM »
I live in a pretty conservative state. Oklahoma.

Oklahoma hasn't voted for a Dem for pres since JFK. That may change though.

Where I work I sit within 50' or so of a lot of HS educated, lower middle class folk. Most claim to be democrats but haven't actually voted for one - well - ever. Some have but not most.

What is disturbing is that these same people are all talking up Obama and what a great guy he is and how he's going to be the 1st Dem they've voted for for Pres ever.

I'd get involved if I could but I'm considered management and inserting myself into their political conversation would not be considered in good taste or appropriate so I just have to sit and listen and worry that maybe what I am seeing isn't just happening here where I work but is happening to otherwise conservative voters all over the nation.

This really has me worried...

I know plenty of Dems that have said just the opposite and would never vote for Obama.  Maybe the doers and donters will cancel each other out.

This has been a most interesting presidential campaign season.  I watched both the Democratic and Republican sides pretty carefully in the primary as things developed.  I didn't like John McCain and have leanings toward the Libertarian side of things this time.  But Bob Barr is probably not acceptable for me.  I would have probably begrudgingly voted for McCain.  With the choice of Sara Palin, that pretty much solidfied my support for John McCain.  Not because John McCain is a different man, but because of the kind of choice he made for vice president nominee.

When the Democratci side of things settle down about a month before the convention, Berry O started moving toward the center.  His public statement in support of the Supreme Court (Heller vs DC) ruling that he believed that firearm ownership was an individual right not a collective right.  I saw on Fox news one of Obama's representatives trying to explain his views on firearm ownership.  He denied that Obama believed that all handguns should be outlawed for civilian ownership.  Said Obama supported hunters using firearms for hunting and so forth.  Sounded like John Kerry all over again. I guess we'll see Berry O out shooting ducks this fall before Nov 7th and saying he did not want to take firearms from hunters.. bla bla bla.

You need to look at the "man" and Berry Obama has clearly supported the Illinois legislature efforts to strictly control firearm ownership.  On top of that, Berry O started campaigning for president immediately after getting elected as US Senator.  He has no experience.  He takes no public stands and votes "present" on controversial bills.  He speaks a sweet line, but he is a socialist through and through no matter what he says.  Hillary was and IS a socialist.  She always has been since college.  Obama will move to restrict firearm ownership consistant with the liberal Democratic base which has bank rolled his candidacy.  It will take him a year or two, but he will do it.  Pelosi, Shumer, Reid, McCarty, and others are salivating in anticipation for what is to come on their pet gun control legislation.  So do WORRY if he is elected.

We need to do everything that is within the law to see that he is not elected.

They should cast their vote exactly like Obama did.  Smiley
