lead batteries may be replaced with carbon in the future:

lead has alreadyd ropped 50% the last year, as has copper.

ammo prices will come down once the panic buying slows down.

Lead, copper and brass have been falling.  Exact amounts vary by region and such.  Fuel prices have dropped dramatically.  The panic buying may be actually useful if ammo producers tool up for expanded production.  Or importers start placing large orders in hope of cashing in.

Give it six months, but ammo prices should drop quite a bit.

That is....... if the President Elect doesn't do something stupid in the next six months.

That's the big variable.

People are hoarding left and right now, keeping prices high regardless of what's going on with raw materials.

WASR-10s for $800 or more.

The supply and demand mechanism is going full swing, and I doubt seriously ammo prices will drop anytime soon.

Lead, maybe.  Completed ammo, not so much.

As I have mentioned elsewhere, I'm overseas now, and have been looking forward to moving to AZ at the end of December.  I had a whole list of goodies that I was going to buy.  But I keep on seeing supplies or items dry up or get ridiculously expensive.   =(

The gun show when I bought my AK a 1,000 round pack of 7.62x39 was $200, last gun show I went to just last Saturday it was $260! Since I went there with the intent to buy it I forked the money over anyways.

This is an interesting trend in prices; since one of the main reasons for the skyrocketing metal prices has been China's increasing demand, which does not seem to have diminished.

I'm on my fourth year of panic buying.  I have no plans to stop. =D
