Anyone have a good source for car parts? Exterior and interior?
« on: January 04, 2009, 12:04:26 AM »
I have a friend looking to replace doors on a Jeep but I'm not turning up much online. Is that something that has to be found through a local joint?

If you mean a real jeep (not the other products Chrysler makes and slaps a jeep badge on), try quadratec.com.

Here's an example: http://www.quadratec.com/products/11140_0X_PG.htm and they have many custom options as well.

+1 for quadratech. They have everything for Jeeps.
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

Care to look underneath my Liberty and see what it shares with the Wrangler and Cherokee?

Put it this way, it's a hell of a lot better vehicle than the old CJ-2A I grew up with.

That doesn't mean I'll jack up my Liberty and put Gumbo Monster Mudders on all four corners, but Jeep wasn't just blowing smoke when they put the Trail Rated badge on it...

Here's what your liberty shares with my Wrangler: http://www.xenonmods.com/ebay/jeepwindshield1.jpg
 =D =D =D

The Liberty is a fine SUV.  I wouldn't mind having one to park next to my Wrangler.  You know, for when I want to drive on paved roads.

I'm just joking with you Gewehr, it'll be ok.

My CJ-2A was responsible for both hemmorhoids and lower back pain in my youth.

The heater sucked, the brakes were weak, and it was underpowered.

I've ridden a hardtail Harley or three, and they're considerably more comfortable than that old boneshaker of a CJ.

Flying 12 hours in a low-level B-52H sortie, with wings flapping and your helmet bouncing against the ejection seat, will still shake you less than a few minutes in a Jeep CJ.

Now that I've retired and no longer need to "rough it", I enjoy the comfort and design of my new Liberty.

Hell, I didn't even know what Approach, Departure, and Breakover Angles were until I got this newer Jeep and looked up "Trail Rated".

I understand the rough ride, as I have a YJ which is leaf-sprung like the CJ.  My heater is adequate, the brakes are great and the 4.0L has plenty of power, but it is definitely not a road trip vehicle.  I have a big comfy Chevy pickup for that.
