I am very sad to report that Furp has been killed in a motorcycle accident. Furp was a friend and Anthrocon staff member; many may remember him as the man with the medical bag who was the first one we called when we had any urgent health issues. His boss told me the following:Last night, Patrick (Furp) was riding his motorcycle near the 29 Palms Marine Corps Base (California) where he works. He was struck by a drunk driver, and died. The driver, a Marine, is currently in custody.
I was always pleasant, friendly and within arm's reach of a gun.
If government is the answer, it must have been a really, really, really stupid question.
