Cammenga EasyMag.

Wow.  If these guys would team up with MagPul and make the things from polymer, you'd have something pretty darn impressive.

Cute.  How reliably does it work when its full of sand or snow, though?

View the video in its entirety. They fill it with sand and fire it.

i'd rather have one of the fun-switch AR's... =D

that being said, pretty cool magazine. i think they run about 30 bucks though. if quick mag loading is important, get a mag loader for $20 and load all of your milsurp $12 mags... my 2 cents.

No, they don't work that well.

Get a LULA or StripLULA. PMAGS. Lancers. Aluminum GI.

The video is fun, though.

Definitely a nice thing to have when you just want to get as much shooting practice done, and as little reloading done as possible. :D

A gimmick. Maybe fun for a range, but unsuited for serious work.

I'm not quite convinced that polymer AR mags are the way to go yet.

P-Mags have been experiencing this:

Rewatched the video.  How heavy are these mags?  Strap 10 full ones on your chest and hump them around for a few days.

Thats my first reaction, too.

Magpul has made changes and improved their product.

Some are wondering if the guy that posted that over several forums is on a smear campaign...there's a big, long, drawn out thread on it over at M4Carbine.net, for one...

I wouldn't call it a smear campaign.

I'd say that Magpul oopsed, and had to do some hasty QC to fix their injection molding problem.

All the reports I've read since then state that they've made good on the bad mags.

However, it doesn't instill a lot of confidence in some folks, myself included.

Then again, I've been stockpiling new aluminum USGI mags since well before Y2K.

I've been buying both PMAG and USGI mags. And some Lancer mags because they look cool.

Given how easily usgi aluminum mags get messed up I don't have much confidence in them. Maybe pmags are better, maybe not. But that's like saying "Fiats are so unreliable, I'll stick with my trusty MG."

No. But this gimmick is brought by none too bright people (the same kind of people that buy Command Arms Accessories, Tapco stuff, and ProMags). Which is good, because it leaves more good mags for me to buy...

A LULA is pretty fast. A StripLULA or a stripper clip with guide is even faster.

Clever idea, but it does seem like a a solution in search of a problem.

While I do wonder how many takes they had to make for that video, I'm interested.

Do they make them for the .308 Galil? :P

I buy Okay. I don't buy Sanchez.

And if they don't work right, I change out the follower, and maybe the spring.

And my AR range bag has a couple of stripper clip holders in it. I can load from strippers as fast, or faster, than stuffing the spring-down dealie.

It is elegant for sure, but as always, with the magazine, the devil is in the details.

And after stuffing double-column pistol magazines which narrow to single column feed at the lips, just pressing in 5.56's straight in honestly seems easy enough.

Trying to get the last round or two into an HK or a Glock mag where you have to get it under the feed lips is kind of like shooting a Mosin-Nagant M44 with a steel buttplate.

And just pressing in 5.56 into an AR mag is well... like shooting an AR.  =D

What struck me as most interesting is the ability to rapidly unload a magazine.  I'm not too terribly concerned with load speed, or I'd have a buttload of stripper clips.  Emptying a mag is a PITA though.

Why would you unload a magazine? By methods other than firing pins, I mean.

There was one of these in a gun store.

You would NEVER see a professional using one, I believe. Why?

Because when you open it, it makes a noise like an AK being chambered. It's LOUD as hell, metal on metal of the mag and the spring. It just screams "I am filling a magazine and cannot return fire!"

It also seemed like it could slash your finger pretty bad. The thing moves all of a sudden.

Wouldn't you load your magazines before battle? I can't imagine anybody going into battle with a box of ammo.
