In search of a good car repair forum...

Jen's Chevy Impala (it's an 05 I think...) has developed an interesting problem. The interior fan won't cut off. You know, the dealie that blows hot air in the winter, and cold air in the summer? Well, you turn the key off, and it keeps going.
 
I pulled the HVAC Blow fuse, and it keeps going. I went to the other side of the car, and I pulled the fuse for the interior fan. It keeps going. Okay, this is weird...
 
I pulled the battery for about an hour. Screwed the *)&^()*& cables back in. Fan started right up.
 
If anyone has any ideas, or could point me toward a group of people who live for this kinda crap, I'd appreciate it.

Try googling for a Chevy Impala forum.

That's how I found my Subaru Outback forums.

That's such a bizarre problem that it just reeks of someone else having the same problem.

sounds like a short to another circuit that is always on

could you have overloaded the cigar lighter circuit & melted some crossing wires?

I'm not an expert with automotive electrical systems, but I think it would be worth a shot to check the blower motor resistor.

Or start pulling fuses one by one until it shuts off.

Stuck fan relay?

This would be my guess as well.  I had that happen on my Crown Vic for the fuel pump.

Did a bit more reading, and it may be a "front blower control module."
 
I just hope I can reach the dang thing.

Or maybe you could just jam the arm into the fan blades to stop it.....
