Mk 25C, Holster Storage Device
« on: July 02, 2009, 12:19:47 AM »
Just came across this critter at the center of tacticoolity, Wal-mart:

A fine way to get the holsters out of the box and into view...as well as allow them to air out after use.

You... you do realize that the original intention is like a bandoleer for LadySmith, right?  =(

I wish I had enough holsters to justify utilizing this awesome idea.  =|

Looks like it works!

My holsters are in an old day pack.
My ammo is in a locked surplus file cabinet.
My guns are in a second-hand safe.

I wish I had better, cooler gear like you guys.  ;)

Not only should one's belt match one's shoes but one's holster should match one's belt, not only in belt slot dimension but also color and, if appropriate, texture.

So for most that means one holster and ammo pouch of a given style in brown and one in black, with the potential for tan and oxblood being needed as well.  Then you may have to look at matte versus glossy finish and G-d help you if you like exotic leathers...

If you have more than, say, two belts; turn in your man card.   :police:

Eh?  I'm not a very clothing orientated guy, and I have a bunch of belts.  Two dress belts, one black one brown.  Two every day belts, in case one breaks, gets too messed up or lost.  An old Army pistol belt that I used for lightweight hiking.  And a very large leather belt I used for my Ren Faire costume.

Yeah, we'll be taking that man card now.

What the hell is unmanly about Renaissance Fairs? Some people like to act strangly while looking old fashioned. That means they're either exhibitionists, crazy, or both. In any case one questioning another's manliness can be perceived as a sign of insecurity.

Leather dress belts 1" - one brown, one black

Leather khaki's/casual slacks belts 1.25" - one brown, one black

Leather "nice" jeans belts 1.5" - one brown, one black

Rigger's belt for Carhartt's/work - green

Cotton fabric belt for shorts and beach type pants - tan with blue stripe

I'll be keeping my man card, it has my "Style" endorsement on it.

Uhm.  Dude?  The reason why I go to a ren fair is not due to any interest in fantasy ish stuff.  I like SF, but I could never stand dragons, wizards, et al type fantasy books.

I like having the excuse for open carrying swords (and other weapons), eating the entire cooked leg of an animal (and rewarming it with open fire), openly and unabashedly observing "goods on display" (I love a lady in a corset), and generally behaving like a well mannered well armed savage.  If such activities are indeed not manly, then I shall happily turn in my card.

OK.....take the man card away from the guy wearing a large leather belt from which he can suspend a longsword, a dagger, and various other melee weapons....you'll be taking back a bloody stump, if you're lucky....
