Cod MW2 - Hardware
« on: November 17, 2009, 12:10:51 PM »
You guys that actually own this game... what hardware are you running it on?

How would my PC do with it?

AMD triple core Athlon
8GB RAM
WinXP 64-bit
ATI Radeon 3870 + ATI Radeon 3850 in CrossFireX mode
24" Widescreen monitor @ 1920x1200

It does beautifully with BioShock, Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30, The Witcher, CoD4:MW and several other games I got about a year or two back... but I haven't tried any new games with it in awhile.

Mine (brand new) is a 2.66 Ghz quad core intel i5
8GB RAM
GeForce 9800 GTX+
windows 7 enterprise 64 bit

It runs flawlessly in 1650Xwhatever my 19" widescreen monitor is set for

I woudl imagine you would be fine.  You might want a slightly spiffier video card to make it as pretty as possible but I would try it first before making that investment.  It will most definitely be playable on your hardware!

Go here:

Follow instructions, see what they say. If your processor isn't 'fast enough', it probably won't matter as long as the video card is 256 megs or greater.

That is really cool!  My laptop at work will run it!   >:D

Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor:Pentium 4 @ 3.2 GHz/AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Memory: 1 GB
Hard Drive: 12 GB Free
Video Memory: 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT

You'll be fine at mid to low settings. You would benefit from a better video card but I would not upgrade just for MW2, it is not that good a game.

I've got a Q9550, 4 gigs ram and a GTX 260 216 core. Runs fine with all settings maxed.

My eeePC netbook won't run it. =|  Bruised its poor ego.

I'm amazed at what I've done with this little guy since I've gotten it though.  It's my every day work computer with a 24" widescreen as a secondary display, and saves me $$$ on my electric bill.

Thx, Savalas.  I'll try it on my real PC later tonite.
