Holly crap
This is shoprite, a chain over here.
Buns 2 bucks for good store baked
No bear in the food stores here
Coke sounds a bit high.
Coffee is ludicrous, Folgers is 7 bucks for 5 Lbs,
I can get the 6 lb at bj's for 7 bucks.
One pays for instant-coffee convenience. THAT one doesn't surprise me. Need to pick up a jar of instacoffee myself - I drink coffee made from beans I grind myself, but find that a teaspoon of instacoffee both adds a good flavor to chocolate-flavored protein powder and helps it mix up better in skim milk.
The other prices seem high to me, but I suspect that you just picked the wrong stuff. I bought Coke product 12-packs last week at Shoppers Food Warehouse (not really a warehouse-place, for those who don't know, it's just a name - they still bag for you at the registers, and it looks like a standard supermarket to me) for ~$3.50 a pop, can get store-brand hot dog buns for $1 today (and I think the fresh-baked hot dog/sub buns the wife and kids bought last week in Alexandria weren't $4, even), and I don't drink beer so I can't comment on that one - but I note that I picked up 8 bottles of 3 different brands of decent wine for under $50 two days ago, at Giant.
