Bachmann forms Tea Party Caucus

I wonder how long it will be before the Socialist Media will say this is a racist group.

Bachmann forms Tea Party Caucus

Republicans have been wrangling for more than a year over how exactly to handle the tea party movement, but now Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) is bringing them under the big tent.

The House Administration committee, which usually takes days to approve something of this nature, approved Bachmann's request to create a House Tea Party Caucus in a day. It will certainly give the national movement a more official voice within the House Republican Conference.

Bachmann, already a hero within the tea party, sent a letter to House Administration Chairman Robert Brady (D-Pa.) Thursday to register the House Tea Party Caucus to serve as an “informal group of members dedicated to promote Americans’ call for fiscal responsibility, adherence to the Constitution and limited government.”

Bachmann, in a statement, said Americans have “had enough of the spending, bureaucracy and the government-knows-best mentality running rampant today throughout the halls of Congress.”

The second-term lawmaker is a fundraising juggernaut — she pulled in $1.7 million last quarter — but still faces stiff competition from State Sen. Tarryl Clark. Clark is getting the help from national Democrats, who have made it their duty to see Bachmann defeated.

The tea party has been generally resistant to a formal organizational structure and generally loathes incumbents. And Republican leaders have flirted with the tea party — often appearing at rallies — but there has been no consensus over exactly how to include the movement within the party.

I have somewhat of a hard time seeing how this helps the tea party movement.  For every good comment she has about government overspending, she has another about the census being tied to internment camps or that the government is going to implement mandatory re-education camps.

Screaming "racist" is the play being run.  What needs to be questioned is does the TEA party need to be associated with spinelessrepublicans.  Are cauci the next step in compromising the TEA party right behind the use of helpful republicans in organizing various events?

Doesn't a caucus sort of go against what the tea party stuff was started for?  As soon as you try to turn it into a political machine, it ceases to be a grass roots effort.

Medved interviewed on the of the media "tea party is racist" people on his show.  He pretty much nailed her on every argument she had to the point that she was just reciting dogma at the end.  No substantive facts at all.

Who else can they relate to and have any chance of winning an election??  Constitution Party, John Birch Society, Independence Party.
Has any party other than Republican or Democrat gotten more than 10% of the vote?

The Tea Party (TP), which is NOT a politicial party, but a group of Americans that is tired of Rinos, big spenders and Dems.  We hav to run the TP candidates against the Repulican candidates and eventually the RINOs will be ge gone as well as the big spender Repubs.

At some point grass-roots efforts need to be translated into politics, and from politics into laws.  This is not in the end about waving signs and getting truckdrivers to honk.
