MSM says Palin has lost her "golden touch"
« on: August 29, 2010, 06:08:20 PM »
I know that Sarah Palin isn't liked by all of the members here, but I think most of us find it fascinating to watch the media deal with her.

A few months ago the media were referring to Palin's "golden touch" regarding candidate endorsements. The candidates she'd endorsed all won.

Nobody has a 1,000 batting average, though, and some of the Palin-supported candidates have lost their primary bids. Now the media is falling all over themselves to say that the "golden touch" is gone. They can beat up on her again (not that they ever really stopped).

It's hard to reconcile these Palin stories with the attitudes of many Democrat candidates toward Obama who are almost begging the president to stay away from them. Who's really lost the "golden touch"? At least candidates aren't telling Palin to stay out of their states.

I love the MSM.

I haven't seen any of this coverage.  Can you supply some links?

Easy indicator....the people that the MSM say are "popular" are people not worth watching....and the ones that the MSM say are "not popular" are the ones you should be listening to....

The fact that she is not ignored bespeaks of the media's concern with her popularity.

Just making news where there is none, to Palin's disadvantage. Palin = controversy, controversy sells. Some Republicans and most Democrats hate her, so people (being evenly split, more or less, between R and D) will be interested to hear that her picks are going down, and extrapolate from that that her power level is now under 9000.

I think Palin is between 60%-67% when it comes to picking a winner.

Does that include her VP bid?   =D

It's not just the success rate that matters.  She doesn't shy away from picking long shots, and then seeing those long shots through to victory.

.................but I think most of us find it fascinating to watch the media deal with her.

This I think is the most interesting thing about the whole Palin story especially when you add it to the reactions of people who really really really don't like her (R's too).

It is funny to me that some of the same people who talk crap about the MSM eat up those stories.  Personally, I think many of the people who don't like her are closet elitists who aren't really happy unless a politician has the correct Ivy League credentials.
(My main personal example is a guy on another site so don't think I am directing that at anyone here.)
