It's nice they found their roots, and saw the error of their ways (kinda hard to go around hating yourself and wanting to send yourself back where you came from, isn't it?) and all.

I'm really not sure what else they could do to atone for their earlier ways, other than trying to go and make a personal apology to everyone they beat up or harassed.  And I'm not sure that would really do any good for either side (don't think they would have their hearts in it on one side, and probably too little too late for the other).

I'm happy for them, or for anyone who finds a way forward. This from me who suspects a lot of churched up people and tries to keep his spiritual belief to hisself. At least he/they had the courage to admit they were screwed up and try to make things a little more correct.

 Contrast this couple with my ordinary white bread cousin who was raised by somewhat of a racist authoritarian. So the cousin gets raised learning a) he is better than others and b) lots of karate. Well with all that learning he didn't learn that beating up gay people in Georgetown, some in a need a hospital bad kinda way, is a Federal hate crime. Well, I'm sure he learned it when the in door at Lorton hit him in the ass. Had a conversion of his own, became a white jailhouse muslim a year or two before 9/11. I thought of him on that day and hoped he was getting beat. 

Then there was that Hitler guy, he didn't do so hot with the suspicion that Momma Maria Shickelgruber might have had some jewish roots.
