So I had my first day of Rotation yesterday at a new pharmacy.
One of the tech's kids was in lock-down at school because some snot-nose 7th grader took a gun to school and started aiming at people.
He was tackled in short order, and no one was hurt.
Apparently, this tech is very pro-gun, and in everyone's face about it. All of the pharmacist's seemed to view him as a "gun nut". They even gloated at the fact that this happened at his daughter's school, and that he was pro-gun.
I found all of this to be very distasteful, and instead of showering them in logic (useless), I played along.
I went along with their logic, and then started:
Me-"Did you hear about that guy in China that stabbed and killed a bunch of people"
Them- "Ohh yeah, that was awful"
Me- "I guess there's no hope in the world when even gun control can't stop murderers"
them- "Well, I hadn't really..."
Me-"I guess it's a good thing those kids were willing to be violent and do what they needed to stop that 7th grader"
Them-"Yeah"
It's like I'm Matt Damon in Inception, planting ideas in their minds.
Have you guys ever "played along" in order to plant seeds of dissonance?
