tippety tap with my little stylus on a ereader/android
« on: March 22, 2011, 11:21:10 AM »
I hooked up a router to the modem and now I can sit in bed and surf the APS on a huge 6x8 screen instead of my cellphone. I feel so sophisticated and metro. Think I'll order me a starbucks and get myself a manicure now.

Get a face peel and start using moisturizer, too.

Considering the one main grooming fail of a majority of men...

Get a pedicure.

(seriously, men with manicures are silly. If men are gonna do girly stuff, at least do girly stuff that men actually need!)

 ;) you're welcome.

I would try to convince my dad to get one, but i'm scared the beauty tech would faint from the horror....

In all honesty, thats is something that bugs me. Not just because stinky cracked feet with gient callluses and untrimmed toenails are icky, but you should take care of your feet since you need them to walk!

Its from hiking so much. Always mind your feet and keep them clean, dry and non blistered.

I met a girl this weekend that had her toe nails painted but the worst case of flakey cracked feet i've seen in a long time.

I wanted to tell her to put socks on.  [barf]

And she was a girly girl! With her feet all funky!

I am not a girly girl, but I scrub my feet everyday and have a $39 tin of organic shea butter which I use on my feet after every shower! And my one large calluse is filed down smooth (i have yet to get rid of it, I think its cause of how I walk) and kept from taking over my big toe.

Uggggg!!!!!! People! Clean feet are not enough!!!! Summer is coming, flip flops will be de rigor and I will be tourtured by accedental veiwings of gross feet!!!

Toe clippings?
Please throw them away.  That has got to be much worse than toe nail clippings.

I got sum uh that "Heeltastic" stuff and it works pretty good, but my self-discipline quotient (SDQ)  is too low to use it regularly.

Unfortunately, bluestarlizzard, after 72 years of hiking, running, walking, jumping, biking, etc, the equilibrium between developing calluses and getting rid of them has shifted too far to the "developing" side of the equation.  Since I'm retired now, I don't walk all that much any more, so I'm hoping to force the equation back the other way.

I found that applying emollients, like that Heeltastic stuff, then putting those clear plastic produce bags you find at the supermarkets over my footsies (with socks over the bags) overnight is a great boon to shifting things the other way.

My feet ain't too ugly, I do keep stuff trimmed down and clean, but those calluses are a trial.  I got one of those foot-scrubber thingies that you stick your foot in like a shoe and wiggle it to and fro, but I haven't figured out a decent way to mount it in the tub.

"Router" and "Androids" for relevance.

Oh, and "gun."

^  On the footsies.  I don't have calluses (callusi? calli?) on my head.  It's hard enough already.

The one on my right big toe goes all the way back to when I played soccer. I think I might pivite on that toe or something. As long as I keep it smooth and not huge, it doesn't bother me so much.

My problem is wearing wet boots for hours. So far i've yet to find a pair of waterproof boots that stay waterproof longer then a few weeks where I work. I tried wearing sealskin socks, but its too hot in the summer, my feet end up just as damp because those things don't breath and they stayed waterproof for about a month.

My only solution has been to dry my feet out when I get home, file the tough spots down and then mosturize, after I shower and scrub.

I don't do the plastic thingy. The stuff I use has the consistancy of wax, so it sticks. That plus cushy smartwool type socks and my feet feel pampered and smooth.

Hmm. The fire boots we had on the ship were pretty darn good in that respect. As in they were a few years old and I was able to walk around in ankle deep seawater and AFFF for a couple hours without my socks getting damp sort of good. Perhaps look into getting a set of these? What sort of work are you doing anyways?

have you tried mink oil, saddle soap, or even the spray stuff?

and the biggest thing that used to keep me mad, if the water level is over the top of your shoes. your feet are wet.
