Ooooh.  Looks like hardly any recoil.  Interesting.

Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone and their mother is fielding a "next-gen" carbine and they all look the same?

Yeah they all look based off the same egonomics and like they have stolen alot of features from the AR platform.
Me, I'd like to see a new cartridge and totally new delivery platform developed for use.  I still just don't think the 5.56 is enough bullet for most of the work its asked to do.

I'm guessing it's the same reason all the cars look the same now.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Yeah, I think that by the time you include adjustable stocks in line with the barrel, ergo pistol grips and forearms, and rails across the top, you sort of look like an AR no matter what it is.  I imagine the plethora of AR parts and accessory designs available helps out also.

Jefe: I have put many beautiful pinatas in the storeroom, each of them filled with little suprises.
El Guapo: Many pinatas?
Jefe: Oh yes, many!
El Guapo: Would you say I have a plethora of pinatas?
Jefe: A what?
El Guapo: A *plethora*.
Jefe: Oh yes, you have a plethora.
El Guapo: Jefe, what is a plethora?
Jefe: Why, El Guapo?
El Guapo: Well, you told me I have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a plethora.
Jefe: Forgive me, El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education. But could it be that once again, you are angry at something else, and are looking to take it out on me?
Sorry, I got distracted.

One thing about the ARX-160, IIRC, is that it's something like 6.5 lbs, which is a pretty big improvement from the SCAR and competitors (shaves about a pound off).
