If I'm reading it right, the "special exemption" was to not have to collect SC sales taxes on items sold to residents of other states.
Why should I, as a citizen of Alaska, have to pay SC's sales tax just because the physical presence of the business is there?
I don't get any benefit from that money and my purchasing the item, particularly from a trans-shipper like Amazon, doesn't impact SC in any way not coverable by property and transportation taxes and such.
