Amy Winehouse found dead

This just in: singer Amy Winehouse found dead in her London home.  Given her many stints in rehab in recent years, I wonder what the cause of death will be.

From what I understand (never heard or saw anything she did) she had true talent, but threw it away.  Sad, but not surprised.

What is really bad about this is that her father will probably hear about it from the news because he was supposed to be on a flight when she was found dead.  So he wasn't contacted before making it public.   :facepalm:

At the risk of sounding... inappropriate, one of her more recent hits was 'They Tried To Make Me Go To Rehab (But I Said No, No, No...)'.

Many noted (public) issues with recreational drugs.  I was somewhat saddened, but not surprised, to see this headline on Yahoo a little bit ago.

Hits hom,e seeimg how I work regularly with a 26 YO female singer myself. I do not want her to end up this way too. She's a smart kid though so the chances are slim.

I was at the Sam's Club in College Station yesterday.....one of the "sample ladies" was giving out small cups of this ( http://www.monsterenergy.com/us/en/products/rehab/  ) to try.....

....I took a swig....and then said "Tastes like Amy Winehouse" out loud.....

....got more than a few giggles from the surrounding customers....

....sorry she's dead....hate to see a life wasted like that....  =|

For me, kind of depressing/sad, I wasn't a fan but kind of watched now that I'm living on a rural isolated compound I don't have a wide social network of folks that I interact with daily ( except online ) but I've lost a lot of friends to addiction, sad to see so many talented people waste their lives.

A good old friend from the 1980's would have been a great asset here, knew everything about WW2 battles, his dad was a Hell's Angel so he grew up knowing amazing fighting skills, a warrior and gentleman but couldn't accept that he was addicted.

Anyway, Winehouse was a gifted singer & its to bad that people can't find a higher power ( God ) that can remove their obsession. RIP
