Just got a newsletter commenting that insiders are buying the stock.  It's up to $6.12

SWB anticipates increases in sales of 20% during 2006 and another 20% in 2007.

Good for them.  Their decision to make AR's seems brilliant to me, much as I hate the things.  Combined with their (bastardized) 1911's, one wonders if they are angling to put Colts out of business.  If USRAC went under, goodness knows they deserve to.

I thought Colt was already out of business.  Close enough, anyway.

I bought SWB at about 1.75/a share.  Some of the folks on the Yahoo board bought in at like .35.

Did you notice the S&W AR-15 has a key-lock on the side of the receiver, a mag safety, a MIM barrel, bandaids inside the pistol grip, a warning on the side of the barrel not to poke yourself in the eye with a fork - AND, when you back up while holding the rifle, it beeps loudly, like the forklifts at Home Depot...

They don't give you the keys to the internal lock, though. They are stating, that if you get into trouble and need to unlock the gun, call 911 first. If, after an hour or so, the police haven't shown up, call S&W between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., M-F and they will mail you two keys. You'll have to provide a serial number, though.

Colt is already doing quite an effective, efficient job of that.

As far as I'm concerned, Smith & Wesson went out of business in 2000.

I dunno, it's done ok by me.
My average cost is about 4.50 and I only bought in late last year.
I've heard rumors of a shotgun line too.
They just came out with a gun cleaning line.  I only own one new Smith (they don't really appeal to me), but I like what they are doing.
Guns guns and more guns, the complete answer to everything.  Less dealers and suppliers to deal with from small shops, the name brand and they introduce new guns all the time (like them or hate them, at least they are new).  As opposed to say Colt (effectively dead) or Ruger (who's totally anti-private gun owners)

It's a good buy IMO
