I've actually had this photo for a long time.  I think the picture is at least 5 or 6 years old; maybe older.  IIRC, the kaboom was caused by a double-charged reload.

Well there's your problem.

Aside from the downright insanity of .44 in scandium anyway, it's not the 2-piece barrel that sets it apart nearly as much as the 2-piece frame.

Some of those don't look that scary (I'm not volunteering.  Don't get the wrong idea.), but wow, that revolver with multiple blowouts... That'll keep me awake at night.

My first thought was .22LR, but those aren't jacketed, just plated.

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

how in the hell???????

I have heard a theory about revolver squibs, that if the loads are light and the gap between the cylinder and the forcing cone is enough you could wind up with something like the above.

My guess is a cowboy shooter substuted jacketed bullets for their light lead bullet load and that was the result.  So that would make it either a 32 or 38.

I had one like that a couple weeks ago.  Not that hard to recover from.  Would have been a disaster if I wasn't paying attention.

Meh, the P22's slide is made of zinc. It's not surprising at all to see one cracked in half.

I thought that at first, but I see the very beginning of a ring between the last two bullets.  Although that could well be from sawing it in two.

cutaway revolver barrel pic

Firearm Blog says it's a .357 Blackhawk.  RugerForum isn't so sure.

In fact, given the cutaway, I'm wondering if that one wasn't something done deliberately.  Normally, if one has a blocked barrel, one doesn't neatly bisect the barrel to clear it.

They cut away the part of the barrel that says:
