Nothing wrong with the hundreds of rounds already in my closet.  What I really need is a bayonet lug for my 870.

Seems I have a retailer within 10 minutes of here.  The wifey would surely appreciate a box of that for Christmas.

There's 7 deals for this listed here, http://gun-deals.com/index.php . Just type Zombie in the search window.

I'd buy some (probably the .380's) but they are just too coy about what it's really loaded with.  There's almost no specs at all.  Are they just XTP bullets with a soft green tip added?  What about the terminal ballistics?

Yeah I'm with you, they're just too vague about it. Looking at the grain weights it looks to be the same loaded ammo as everything else but I'm not sure. I looks like more of a gimmick then anything else. The fact that Hornady offers it leads me to think it may be good ammo but then again it may be just for shooting these. https://www.survivalops.com/shop/bleeding-target-zombie/

Until they come up with a ballistic gel, or other substitute that reliably replicates the terminal properties of a wide range of rotting and dessicated/dry flesh, it's just a pretty box...

When I saw the first video for these rounds a month or two ago, I thought it was a brilliant marketing move. In the short term, especially with Christmas coming up, they're going to sell tons of this ammo, and I bet at least 50% of it never gets shot. I want a box just to leave on the living room table or on display in my office or somewhere. Awesome home decor for the gunny. :)

Oh, well in that case, sign me up!

I seem to remember that repro barrel shrouds/bayo lugs for the 1897 were cheaper than that.  Maybe one could be made to work with a stock 870.

Someone should tell Hornady that, if you're gonna do gimmicky ammo, you gotta do it right....

Ok I just talked to someone I know at www.LuckyGunners.com and he told me they have as much information about this ammo as Hornady has available listed and a lot of people are asking about it. He said according the ballistics and design in his opinion it's the same as Hornady Critical Defense with a green tip instead of red. That and it's about .07 cents more a round. If you go here, http://www.hornady.com/ammunition/zombiemax and look down the page they have the rounds listed. Click on the one you want to know about and the next page has the ballistics for that round.
