Dang, he got in.  Now, what do we do?  Tongue

There's an approval process now? First I've heard of one. Did I miss a meeting? Smiley

Welcome anyway. What do you shoot?

RocketMan, 280plus, Brian,

I will try to be good.  PAX told me this is the kinder, gentler side of THR, and that I would like it here.

Bill,

If it goes boom, I have shot it, will shoot it, or shoot it now.

Lately my shooting has been confined to;

.45, my CCW is a Ruger P90.  ( I retired my 93 year old 1911 when I bought the Ruger)

.22, I have a Ruger 22/45 (a Christmas present from my wife a couple of years ago), and my dads German SA.

12 guage, for ducks from a Benelli Nova pump, or my 870, and for grouse a Winchester 101 upland special, (together we got a double, once).

I also shoot 30.06, 03A3 Spingfield (yes it was sporterized but still shoots moa).

.38 spcl, .357, from a 2" EAA Windicator, a sometimes CCW.

9x18 Makarov, a Bulgie.

.410 single shot, just for the fun of it and because it is a great way to introduce new shooters to shotguns.

I recently bought my best friend's Ruger Blackhawk in .41 mag from his widow.  I will be shooting it this summer.  He and I enjoyed shooting this hand gun so much that I had to have it, it is without a doubt, the most accurate revolver I have ever fired.

Yes, I am thinking of starting to reload!!!  I am also thinking that wheels on my range bag wouldn't be a bad idea.

Most of my shooting lately has been punching paper, a little trap, some duck and grouse hunting.  I also occasionaly gun for field trials.

As you can see, I like guns and shooting.

I have 4 grand daughters, and the oldest, soon to be 19, smart and gorgeous, is becoming my shooting buddy.  The 11 year old is still not quite mature enough, she only seems able to remember 3 of the 4 rules, and never the same 3, when I quiz her.  Although, when I have her help me in the kitchen, she handles the knives safely and surely.  Maybe this summer is the time to take her out.  I think she will enjoy it and will be good.

The other 2 are 3 and 5.

I do believe that grand daughters are put on earth to make old men feel important again.

Enough about me, what do you shoot?

DM

PS thanks for the welcome, and Brian, I fell for that "New Guy" thing on THR.

DM,
Welcome.  It may have been a joke of THR, but over here you must buy the first round.  Make mine Redbreast (irish whiskey)  and a case of Fed. HS in .40 please. Tongue

Watch out for the rest of them, but I can be trusted.  Cheesy

I'm in short supply of .357 magnum and lately I have been drinking Maker's Mark. So drop off a case of each.

Grampster,

Never heard of Redbreast, even when I was in Ireland.  I like all of the Irish whiskey I have had with some of my favorites being, Jameson's and the single malt you can only get at the distillery in Bushmills.

Come on over.

Although I don't have any of that wimpy .40 stuff you shoot, I can definately set you up with a wee sip or two of whiskey.

Charby,

Makers Mark is the house bourbon.  There is always a bottle or two on the shelf.  Come on over.

By the way, before you beer drinkers get started, the house beer is Guinness.

DM,
Thanks to the good advice of Gewher98, who intoduced me to Redbreast, I share the following iirc.  Jameson's may have some connection to this fine, fine stuff.  It is a 12 year old single unblended Pure Pot Stilled Irish Whiskey.  It's triple distilled and aged in oak for at least 12 years.

The label says it is distilled, matured and aged by Irish Distillers Ltd.

It is very, very good.  I can't really describe the taste except to say that I like Irish Whiskey and this tops the list as far as I'm concerned.  I think I'll have a couple of fingers now, faith an begorah.

As for your fantasy with rounds other than .40, I suspect you are one of them .17 cal. mystics.  Tongue   (grin)

PS:  another old guy with grandkids is heartily welcomed here.
