Cats Are Kinda Like Guns
« on: January 13, 2012, 08:46:00 PM »
I was at a vet clinic when I was told I’d qualify as a cat rescue operation.
I’d be able to get special privileges and even funds from the government.
My first thought was, “registration leads to confiscation.”
What?!? Where did that thought come from?
Upon further reflection, it wasn’t too far off the mark, at least for me.
With government involvement would come government intrusion, regulation, and probably a whole bunch of other stuff I don’t want.

Thinking about it even further, I considered the similarities between cats and guns.
Some people just don’t like cats/guns and nothing anyone says will make them feel differently.
Some people think cats/guns are dangerous and deadly. “Cats/guns go off for no reason.”
Some people think it’s odd if you have more than one or two cats/guns.
Some people think the world would be a better place without cats/guns…because, you know, cats/guns kill.

Just a thought.

The diffrence would be that cats ARE actually evil.

None of my guns have been trained to crap in the house.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. You'll be begging me to take him back (when your not spouting gibberish and drooling) in less then a week.

I beg to differ. I cleaned my Garand with Windex, a patch and a rod. It just sat there. I did the same with the cat and while it squirmed a bit for the Windex, it tried to rip my face off once the rod came into play.

Not too off the mark. Israel has laws limiting how many cats you can own.

What if you get more than 10 kittens in a litter? Assault cat?

If the us mil was serious about taking out these terriorist they would have asked to borrow pharoh.

Drop him in the middle of afganistan, and I garreentee an end to the taliban within 24 hours.

Or we'd end up fighting them even more because they would fall under his rule and end up taking over the world.

Damn cat.

Keep more than N (don't know what N is) cats and it's confiscation. And/or fines.

That's crap. We're not far behind, the animal welfare movement here is often divorced from actual best outcome for the animals and/or divorced from reality. My mother is a treehugger, works in a bird store, goes on birding trips etc. yet she was upset that the city couldn't fund their spay/neuter and return program for feral cats. Yes, they pay people to catch the cats, fix them, return them, and often keep them fed. She was appalled at my suggestion. The animal welfare group down the road won't adopt out hunting hounds to hunters or other dogs that may live outside like farm dogs.

Like guns?   Hmmm, never thought, much less wanted, to kick a gun.

Definitely not like trampolines:  you're expected to take your shoes off when you jump on a trampoline!

No cats are not kinda like guns.  I want more than on gun and one cat is more than enough.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Cats are a lot more comfy to sleep with than a gun, and do a much better job of functioning in ways akin to an electric blanket.

Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

my guns must have been "fixed" before i got them, as i keep them locked in a dark private space and they haven't procreated yet.
