OK, I'm reviving this thread to tell you that, as far as computers go, I'm a functional illiterate.

What does this have to do with DBD?,  Well, there is a new, impossible to ignore notice under the daily strip to INSTALL THE CODE!  Along with a window containing the code.  I got a Mac so that I wouldn't have to see this particular type of sausage-making.  Will I be unable to see DBD if I don't install it?  And if outright avoidance is impossible,

HOW DO I INSTALL THE CODE ON MY WEIRD (but wonderful) COMPUTER??

The code referred to is for if you have DBD on your website or blog. It's the code you would put in your webpage so that it grabs a new comic every day. If you're just browsing to the website every day to see the comic, there's nothing you need to do. Smiley

unless you miss a day, and want to go back... I keep getting an error code when I try. Means I missed almost a week of DBD...

Chris... that's making me very cross with you... Sad

+1. It was working fine the other day. You clicked a link on a calendar and could go to that day. Now when I click the start at the beginning link at the bottom of the page, I get a server error page with a bunch of code displayed.

If you read carefully, "the archives are unavailable" until the new code thing takes effect.

I kept trying to go back too, I was out of town for a week, probably read the info a dozen times trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Wink

The image format has been changed from gif to jpeg?!?!?!

JPEG is an abomination.  I'd suggest PNG instead.  As an added benefit, it will save you disk space and bandwidth.  And it's lossless.

Jpeg can be smaller, but your comics aren't compressed very much.  If they were, there'd be annoying visual artifacts in the comics.  In addition, I test-converted the entire daybyday archive from gif to png, and the png archive is 17.8% smaller.

Unless you're going to start heavily compressing the comics, png is superior in just about every way.

Oh, yeah...  I love your comic!
