We got a Verizon broadband transceiver on a trial basis today. Initial impressions are that it is an improvement over our satellite based internet service. Not a quantum leap, but a noticable improvement in speeds.
I think we're going to go all in on the Verizon package with new smart-phones as well. The Casio G'zOne Commando is available for "free" with a 2-year contract. Normally they're $180 or so. I wanted that one as I intend to have it with me when fishing in the kayak. I didn't want to have to worry about it getting wet, and I wanted the ruggedness. And without having to mess around with a separate box that could have provided similar protection.
