Take another adult shooter you trust with you to be another set of eyes for safety stuff. Just makes things easier to manage...
Eye and ear protection are *mandatory* for the shooter, eyes are optional for the non-shooter. If you don't have enough sets of eyes, that is. If there's enough safety glasses for everyone, everyone wears them all the time while there is shooting taking place. Would recommend plugs *and* earmuffs, especially for the kids. While one alone is usually enough, the two do a much better job... Especially if people don't know exactly how to put the earplugs in.
